Meet the doctor
Dr. Joshua L. Whetten
Dr. Joshua L. Whetten completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Creighton University and completed his general residency at the Peninsula Hospital in Queens, New York. He then completed a Master’s in orthodontics (MSc) from the University of Alberta.
Today, Dr. Whetten is a proud member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Nevada Dental Association, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists.
With thousands of smiles created, Dr. Whetten has experience treating a variety of cases ranging from routine to multidisciplinary and highly complex. Dr. Whetten believes that staying up to date on the latest technology is a necessary channel to practicing orthodontics effectively.
Dr. Whetten grew up in Las Vegas and enjoys staying connected to his community through involvement in school oral health programs,youth sports, and his church. Dr. Whetten also enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children, attending sports, and making fresh pasta dishes. His favorite teams include the Golden Knights, Utes, Cornhuskers, Crimson Tide, and St. Louis Cardinals.

We utilize Cone Beam CT (CBCT) and iTero Digital Scan technology to assist in case diagnosis. Additionally, we offer self-ligating (SL) brackets, heat-activated wires, and Invisalign technologies to decrease the amount of time in treatment and frequency of visits, while increasing patient comfort.

Personal Touch
Barring an extenuating circumstance, Dr. Whetten sees every patient, every visit. This is uncommon in most orthodontic practices, but we feel it is what makes Whetten Orthodontics stand out. Many of our patients get to know us so well that we have inside jokes and running sports rivalries to make the time in the office fly! Additionally, patients make themselves a part of our office by signing the graffiti wall and participating in taking photos during our dress-up days.
Education
In addition to Dr. Whetten’s continuing education hours, our staff routinely meets with representatives from various orthodontic product providers to keep informed on current orthodontic trends. Likewise, we hold CPR and CDC training with other general and specialty dentists in the comfort of our office.
