Dr. Joshua L. Whetten
“Dr. J” is a native of Omaha, Nebraska, although he was raised in Las Vegas. He graduated from Bonanza High School. He attended the University of Utah, but does not hold a degree, as he was accepted to dental school after only his second year of studies. Dr. J earned his DDS degree from Creighton University in Omaha and returned to practice general dentistry in Las Vegas. He later completed a three-year specialty residency in orthodontics at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where he received an MSc degree in Medical Sciences. His thesis on digital model treatment planning was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics shortly thereafter.
Dr. J and his wife, Megan, are the parents of four children: Makall, Bryn, Davis, and Cari. In his free time Dr. J enjoys spending time with his family, reading, music, golfing, basketball and anything that can be found on an ESPN network. He is a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Nebraska Cornhuskers, and must split his heart between Utah and UNLV when they play against one another. Dr. J developed a love for European culture when he served at a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Italy and Switzerland. He is still fluent in Italian and enjoys speaking it whenever possible.
